Congratulations to the winner of Joining Sword & Pen 2011-12: TRASH by Arthur M. Jolly. The script will be produced by BWB in 2012.
The painting that inspired TRASH is by Chicago painter Victoria Szilagyi (click her name to see more of her work!), winner of the first ever Inspiring Sword & Pen competition.
Mr. Jolly is BWB's first two-time winner, having also penned the 2009-10 selection A GULAG MOUSE. Our submission & selection process is a blind one - all identifying information is removed from the scripts before they are distributed to the ensemble for review - so we were surprised and thrilled to find that we'd be working with him again!
